an excerpt from our last conversation:

me: magpuli ko da wala ka man gaupod maggwa
b-boy: text lang ko bala
me: sige a, gwa ta makabalik ko
b-boy: ara ko na

i received a call from a friend saying that b-boy just passed away. i couldn't believe that i started calling friends to check if the grim news is true, i was thinking it can't be true, he is too young to die, that and it was his cousin, a friend who was the class clown who was the bearer of the bad news. a few calls and texts later confirms the very tragic event.
the only thing that was going through my mind that time was to book a ticket so i can be there for the funeral.
i took the second to the last flight from manila and went straight to the where his wake was held.
though i was already looking down on my friend, i still can't believe that he lies there lifeless. i treat him as one of my closest friends.. its just so sad that we lost touch over the years.

well, true to his words.. he was there when i went back to bacolod.
